Intended learning outcomes
- To be able to apply the fundamental concepts of classical mechanics to systems with a large number of particles. To understand the relation between the statistical quantities of these systems and the fundamental thermodynamical concepts, such as temperature and entropy.
- To know the fundamental laws and ideas from statistical physics, with particular emphasis to Boltzmann distribution. To be able to apply these notions to problems of general nature, such as the traveling salesman problem, the motion of fluids, econo- and socio-physics, etc.
